Every year on HubSpot’s content team, our whole team works remotely for a week. By working from home full-time and conducting all our meetings through video conference software, remote week helps us develop empathy for our remote colleagues and teaches us how to more effectively collaborate with our co-workers who live halfway across the world.
Today marks the last day of remote week, and, to be frank, I’m kind of sad. I thoroughly enjoyed getting an extra hour of sleep everyday, working comfortably in my pajamas, and rocking out to John Mayer -- with no headphones on. It was pretty liberating.
If you feel the same way about working from home and you’re currently looking for a job, you should know that landing a fully remote job is more possible than ever nowadays.
Most companies embrace remote work: 34% of remote employees work 4-5 days a week out of the office. And since remote workers are usually more engaged and efficient than office workers, employers will support working from home even more in the future.
At HubSpot, we’re huge proponents of working from home, so we want to help you find the companies and jobs that allow you to enjoy a fully remote lifestyle.
Read on to find your next remote job.

Freelancing is also a common role for remote workers. But before you start your own venture, you must be realistic with yourself. How will you be able to make a living? And where will you find work? Answer the following questions to help you figure if freelancing is a feasible lifestyle:
- What am I good at?
- What do I like to do?
- Is there a need for my skill?
- Can I do this job online?
Once you know how you’ll be able to make money, you can enter the gig economy by marketing and selling your services on your own, or finding work on a freelance service marketplace like Upwork or Fiverr.
